HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT
What you will do:
- Work together with the Product Owner to plan and execute projects
- Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively
- Establish realistic estimates for development timelines
- Ensure that projects remain on target to meet deadlines
- Work closely with the Product Owner, Sales, and Business Analysts, to understand the system’s functional and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with the Product Management to define the Product Vision
- Evolve the existing software system applications and architecture
- Coordinate release and sprint planning and conduct scrum meetings
- Liaising with QA for product releases
- Help developers resolve both technical problems as well as human resources issues
- Monitor individual employees’ performance
- Coach, motivate and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development
- Hire and retain development team
- Promote development team image in Estonian IT community
What we expect:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of management and leadership experience in a software development organisation
- At least 5 years’ experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products to market
- A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader and/or development manager
- Strong understanding of the software development cycle, especially iterative and agile
- Strong project management skills
- Experience with managing the development of SaaS and cloud based applications
- Relevant experience with web services and REST
- Understanding of relational databases, especially SQL Server
- Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices
- A team player who enjoys technical challenges within a fast paced environment
